Pariyar has relentlessly dedicated his life to music creating many popular tunes

At a time when musicians are opting for overnight popularity with a 'collage' of music pieces picked up from other different creations, a sexagenarian musician who has dedicated his life to music arrangement, direction and singing still quietly plays in octave of the harmonium to invent new creations every day. He claims this practice gives him an immense pleasure that he cannot explain in words.
Enriched by the expertise of playing most of the music instruments, composing melodies in all folk and modern genres, this musician is as calm as the sea, while his height in the music industry is as high as the mountains.
He has witnessed the upheavals in the music industry of this country. Whether it may be the technical difficulty faced by the artistes in the early days of singing or the periods when the music cartridges in Radio Nepal were deliberately destroyed by fellow artistes in envy of popularity, Ganesh Pariyar has seen its highs and lows.
Even at this age, Pariyar still has a very busy schedule. Composing music, singing and recording songs is still his daily routine.
Pariyar served in the Radio Nepal for 22 years and for about 12 years as a music arranger in Music Nepal. For many years, he was the chief of the music division at Radio Nepal.
Not only is Pariyar enriched with his expertise in playing many musical instruments, but he is also enriched with a melodious voice. The song 'Jhan Samjhyo Runchha Man, Tala Heryo Nila Ban' is very well received by the audience.
Pariyar has made a lot of contributions in all genres of songs including modern, folks, patriotic songs, and Bhajans. He has sung many patriotic songs and Bhajans (devotional songs).
Music is Pariyar's family profession. His father was a bandmaster in the Armed Forces and his grandfather Kale Nepali one of the first bandmasters of Police. Still his brothers are in the Armed forces and lead the Royal Nepalese Army Band.
Pariyar, however, was not attracted by the prestige and honor he would earn as an army officer. Instead, this down to earth, simple and independent person preferred to join Radio Nepal.
With expertise in playing many musical instruments, Pariyar has been an instructor of Violin, Mandolin, Key Board, and Guitar. Pariyar has made his identity as a music arranger, music director and a singer.
Born and brought up in a family in a professional environment, Pariyar got an opportunity to learn music from an early age. Following the legacy of his family he had also joined the Army. However, he resigned and joined Radio Nepal later on.
"I am a lover of solitude and a rather independent person," said Pariyar. "So, I thought I would enjoy better in independent creations."
Indeed, over last four decades he has created thousands of music pieces. "I cannot explain the euphoria I get while creating them in words," said Pariyar.
In recognition to his contributions, Pariyar has been decorated with several honors and awards. He was recently awarded the much coveted and prestigious award of the music field 'Chhinnalata Sangeet Puraskar' and honored by the Nepal Musical Association, among other organizations.
Pariyar holds a special flair in the melodies and tunings of folk songs. He has used his talent in arranging music for many different kinds of folk songs. Pariyar, particularly holds the credit for his contribution in the music composition of Deuda Songs. The music composition in most of the Deuda albums is done by Ganesh Pariyar, according to renowned Deuda singer Nanda Krishna Joshi.
He has composed music for renowned singers and lyricists like Narayan Gopal, Gopal Yonjan, Chandani Shah, Ambar Gurung, Aruna Lama, Bachchu Kailash, Kumar Basnet, Tara Devi, Shiva Shankar, Prakash Shrestha, Deep Shrestha, Prem Dhoj Pradhan among others.
