Sinners in Heaven, Saga continues

Mini skirts and halter tops mingled freely with muscle shirts and low rise pants. Guys were trying to woo their counterparts with break-dance and synchronized group dance.

August 2nd- Friday, at Hotel Yak and Yeti- The music was hot, the DJ-phemomental, and the Mega models were glittering. It was Déjà vu for all the original Sinners. And what a way to relive the past event.

The sinners (party lovers of Kathmandu) were in for a bigger surprise this time at the pearly gates of Heaven (Yak and Yeti). Gone were those angelic, powder blue gates and instead a flaming door was there to greet them. Just another minor detail hinting to what could be expected inside.

Once inside the gate, it was another dimension all together. As promised, the music was louder and the décor was breathtaking. The lights made the "electronic" fire flicker even higher. Some important looking guy in a suit told us it was generated by lights, but trying to grasp that concept after two gin and tonic was tough. Every where you went the music followed you. Literally, there were thousands of speakers( ok, maybe a little exaggeration, but it sure sounder like it ). Mini skirts and halter tops mingled freely with muscle shirts and low rise pants. Guys were trying to woo their counterparts with break-dance (boring) and synchronized group dance (almost cool). DJ Rumy was once again the uncontested supreme DJ making music magic with his mixer. The thumping music made our heart skip a beat, or was it the larger than life glowing potrait of the Devil, we’ll never know.

The lower part of the atrium (for people not familiar with sinners concept-the dance floor), was where most of the action was.

Most, because the rest was everywhere you could think of. Durbar Banquet hall (Buffet counter) was where the sin of gluttony was taking place, and the Royal Regency Banquet hall (host to many important seminars and decision making events that have changed the course of history in Nepal) was the venue for the ultimate sin-bottomless bar!

There were few quiet little corners up on top, but you could hardly find one without a cozy couple "talking" there.

Could it have been any better? Not really. We sure missed Nafisa from MTV but our Manpreet Babe (former Miss India and Miss Universe Runner-up) and Geetika (former Miss Femina and popular VJ) made the whole party come alive from their elevator to perch. Despite the beautiful models mingling with the crowd, they had their own homegrown to ogle at.

All jokes apart, there were some really beautiful people around. Just to see them dance was a treat by itself. This was evident by the amount of guys peering over the balcony and braving vertigo in their slightly tipsy state to see where the next potential Miss Nepal might be dancing around.

Overall, it was fantastic event that was worth going to and we wish there were more of it. Yak and Yeti, please make us sin some more.
