Politics of internal sabotage!

Nepal’s politics is getting more and more strenuous to understand. The more you understand, the more you wish to know. The more you wish to know you will come to know that it is getting more and more intricate. If, yet, you wish to brave with Himalayan endurance the complications attached to Nepalese politics you will have to go deep into the nitty-gritty of Nepal’s politics. After crossing the nitty-gritty’s phase involved in this nation’s politics, if you feel comfortable to continue your journey in this regard, you would be greeted by a surprise. Upon observing the astonishment from close quarters you will be further surprised to realize that this surprise you had been witnessing since all along these past ten years plus of the advent of this new order. The surprise will divulge that Nepalese politics has ever remained the hostage of its own heavy weight. The surprise will further prove that Nepal’s politics is hollow from within and there is nothing except betrayal being practiced by each and every politician against his or her nearest political rival. It would also bring to light the crude fact that the Nepali congress possessed enemies from within and that time permitting the party will itself cause its total collapse provided a free for all rugby is organized in the nation’s political scene. Internal saboteurs aplenty in the party undoubtedly.

The current dirtiness seen in the congress politics is the party’s own making and hence could be expected that they would themselves cool it down in their own larger interest of survival as a political force. Creating problems to one ruling camp by the other camp and vice versa are nothing new for this party. It has almost been a regular occurrence in the congress to entertain the national population through such ignominious acts witnessed just a few days back that perhaps has ceased to draw the attention of the population other than those in the party’s camp. Passing on the threats of a no confidence move against the sitting Prime minister by a section of the congress men and in retaliation the abrupt sacking of a senior member of the cabinet by the Prime minister and the horse trading affair that clandestinely continued for almost a couple of days in the congress’ both the camps made simply a mockery of the politics which the ruling party is practicing in the nation. Though apparently, the congress tussle has subsided or has been given to understand in that manner, however, the lust for bouncing back to the corridors of power seen in the stalwarts of both the camps forces us to conclude that some thing is still being cooked up some where against each other. This adventure will perhaps further expose the congress party and its stalwarts and their immaturity in the eyes of the national population and without. Is some one watching the congress drama?

Trace the rotten eggs in parliament?

Better late than never, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has candidly admitted that practicing politics in Nepal solely meant to enter the parliament, grab ministerial posts and then take care of one’s personal ends. This grand sudden insight and the subsequent divulgence of the nation’s Prime Minister is somewhat exemplary in the sense that what the national population and the nation’s media had been pointing out for his personal attention had totally been neglected by the same personality who has dared to confess this hard reality for obvious reasons. However, at this particular time when he felt the brunt of the menace perhaps forced him to admit this truism. While it would be unfair and unjust as well to dub all the parliamentarians in the manner the Prime minister has stated, however, what could be fairly said of some of the lawmakers currently occupying seats in the lower house of nation’s parliament that some rotten eggs were definitely there. Now that the nation’s Prime minister has hinted that some lawmakers currently in the parliament had surreptitious connections with noted smugglers and men from the underworld, the onus to prove this Himalayan allegation too apparently rests with the personality who has laid bare this "convincing truth". Koirala as Prime minister and president of the party as well must also share the blame in having sent some of the congress members to the parliament as without his acquiescence even the person whom he charges now might not have obtained party election tickets at time of the last general election. In addition to that, if the Prime Minister knows the rotten eggs belonging to his party now in the legislature or even in his own council of ministers should possess the required courage to summarily depose those whom he considers rotten eggs. Perhaps the other parties in the opposition should also take a clue from prime minister’s subtle hint and investigate who were the dishonest ones in their party who have sneaked into the parliament. Koirala’s thundering voice made in this regard will attract the attention of the people only if he initiates penal actions against all those whom he has listed belonging to the notorious group of the smugglers and the Mafia. Or else it would be taken as a step or a voice uttered in vengeance of those who engineered to pull him down only last week.

Be that as it may, Koirala’s fresh declaration must be taken seriously as his articulation have only supported the people’s belief that notorious elements have sneaked into the nation’s parliament and eating nation’s economic vitality in close collaboration with those for whom nationality and patriotism both was money and money only. But who they were? Keep guessing.
