Letter to the Editor

Hi!  I'm Paula Tricia G. Mendoza and I'm a college student in the University of the Philippines.  I  would
like to ask if you could answer the following questions for my report in my Journalism class.  It is about
the present situation of the Nepali Press and how Nepal's history affected it.

Here are the questions that I hope you would answer:
1.  Do you think the Nepal Press is free?  For you, what is the Nepalese' concept of  "freedom of the
press"?

2.  Does your present government restrict the things that should be published or printed in the
newspaper?  Do you have laws or decrees or acts regarding this/these restriction/s of the press?  What
are they and what do most journalists think about it?  Do you think these laws/decrees/acts work for
your country as a whole?

3.  For you, how does your country's history affect the freedom of your press today?

4.  What can you predict on the Nepali press' situation  in the future?

I really hope you can help me.   I will be waiting for your response and answers.

Thank you very much for your time.

Yours truly,
Paula Tricia G. Mendoza
