"We the people" of Nepal suggest Premier Deuba! Whether the Nepalese Prime Minister likes it or not, however, the fact is that he is in the recent days prefers to keep himself busy in petty matters that neither boost his image nor benefit the country. To be more candid, "we the people" have taken in a very bad taste Prime Minister Deuba's wish to engage himself in matters such as inaugural sessions, book launching ceremonies and the likes which definitely consume much of his valuable time for nothing which instead he could have utilized in meeting scholars, media men and foreign policy experts, economists and others who not only command respect in the nation but also possess knowledge and the ability to "give advice" to the Prime Minister. In doing so the Prime Minister benefits and by the same token what could be predicted is that it is the nation which benefits ultimately. However, the bizarre fact is that he has not done so and it is already time that his hundred days honey-moon period is coming to a close. Naturally "we the people" possess the rights to ask him as to what were his tangible achievements during this period? "We the people" politely thus advise the Prime Minister to create a ministry whose job would be to take care of such petty book launching, inaugural sessions, and cutting the ribbon at painting exhibitions and bla bla bla which will save time for him and the new minister commanding the authority will accomplish those jobs on his behalf. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba must understand the fact that his own party president is his biggest enemy who could go to any extent and length in condemning his rule. Thanks that Deuba also possesses some ministers in his own cabinet whose lust for power and mood in bringing in their own set of "band" in the would-be expanded ministry will hundred percent create panic in the Prime Ministers' camp should he deny some berths to those ministers who presumably have already furnished the their list to the Prime Minister. Deuba must understand that it is this set of the "rare political commodities" who possess no ethics and have joined politics to enjoy it for personal benefits. It is this set that was all along with Koirala for decades and decades but summarily left Koirala in the cold and joined Deuba camp for petty "political gains". What if these "renowned" personalities abandon him at Koirala's instigation? What is the guarantee that president Koirala will not give them "sweets"? Considering all these impending "threats", what the prime minister should do is to keep himself engaged in matters that have a direct bearing on national issues, people's grievances and the likes instead of assuming the ceremonial posts of the chief guests and cutting the ribbon and talking irrelevant matters and bore the people next morning through the government controlled and dictated national media. If he does so, "we the people " will be at his back and this would act like a "shield" which will protect him and his lame-duck government from all the possible visible and invisible attacks from known and unknown quarters. It is time that he listens to "we the people's" modest suggestions. How the Prime Minister takes this suggestion should be entirely left to him. Good and bad concurrently go in Nepal. If we possess some very good souls then concurrently we do possess very "naughty and greedy souls". The news is that a sizeable chunk of the Nepali parliamentarians did pocket "Dashain Kharcha"(festival allowance) from the parliament secretariat much the same way as the government servants enjoy it every year. The difference is that the government servants do so or say pocket the special Dashami allowance as per the rules already in existence. They are allowed at this time one month salary extra considering their round the year job in their respective offices. However, the lawmakers or say "we the people's representatives" pocket money at time of the festivals to which they are not at all allowed because there is no such law or for that matter the rules which guides the regulation of such money meant for the festivals. This explains the lust and the greed for the money, which a vast section of Nepali people's representatives possess. To recall it is this set that boycotts the parliamentary session for months and months but shamelessly pockets the amount as if in doing so they have done a great job for the "nation's interests". We have no words to denounce this unacceptable practice acquired by some of our lawmakers. Kudos to those lawmakers who have not only rejected such money but have also hinted their fellow colleagues to "pay back" the money already pocketed by them to the parliament secretariat. This explains that we still possess some good souls in the parliament. We appreciate their feelings. We hereby suggest the lawmakers who have already gulped the money to pay it back and exhibit their greatness or else prepare themselves to bag hatred from their own voters back in the districts. May Goddess Durga Bhavani take care of the two diametrically opposite sets in a manner She thinks appropriate. May Goddess Durga Bhavani bless the poor segment of the Nepali society who barely enjoy two meals a day.
