LETTER

Dear Narendra P. Upadhyaya

Namaste,

Thank you for the impressive editorial "Colin Powell said it!" of 23rd January 2002. You have made analytical study on the recent visit of US dignitaries in Nepal and gave pro and cons of the event. All things can not be measured with a stick of money or donation. Why some of Nepalese people don't feel pride of Nepal and always expect something in terms of monetary value from the developed countries? It is a matter of pride and pleasure for Nepal to be with US at a time of crises. I fully agree with three points as pointed in the second and third paragraph of the editorial.

Also, I would like to thank you for the column "Kathmandu Declaration- SAARC XI (1-2). I was wondering in many papers for the real text of declaration made on poverty alleviation and perplexed not finding it.

Surprisingly, I got it in your paper. I expect such specials in future too.

Sincerely yours
KB Kunwar
