With malice to none In my opinion, fools should be of three types. The first one should be a fool who pretends not to be a fool but acts like a fool because he is in effect a fool. The second type of fool is the one who is not a fool but his actions and inaction forces one to conclude that he is a fool. The third fool is that fool who is constantly subjected to bear the fools and in the process he is finally a fool. Experiences show that when one is associated with the fools for long time, he or she acts or behaves like a fool much the same way when one personality who is a nice gentleman becomes more and more polished figure when he or she is attached with a blue blood and acts and responds to others in a very cultured and exemplary manner. If one wishes to witness, tolerate and associate with fools of all sorts mentioned above could well come to Nepal and enrich oneself. In fact, scholars are most welcome if they wish to obtain doctoral degree on fools. It is my personal belief that with the waiver of visa fee for the citizens of SAARC nations, many scholars from member countries would try their luck and time permitting they would be able to make lecture on who are the fools., where to find the fools, how the fools look like, how the fools react to others and finally what makes a man a fool and etc. My humble opinion to the Thapa government would be to allow the number one and noted fools of the country to converge at one place and let them chart out some sort of plans for the establishment of a School for the Fools. Albeit, the University of the fools need to be headed by the political fools whom we the Nepalese have been tolerating for all along these thirteen democratic years. In so doing, we will have honored the Nepali leaders for their lovely and exemplary foolish contributions made to the nation which, I strongly believe, will be copied by interested quarters abroad. Donations will start pouring in from those who wish Nepal within a short of time to be inhabited only by the fools. Can one imagine a Nepal overwhelmed by fools of different order. Nevertheless, the governments prime minister as the Chancellor of the proposed university should be allowed to grade the fools as per his own discretion. After all, it should be Prime ministers prerogative to act on that line or his constitutional rights will have been violated. However, the Chancellor at time of grading the fools graduating from the university of the fools must have a panel of the widely acclaimed fools from his own native country. Wisdom would be that the Chancellor makes sure that the panel of the judges all come from our own political parties or else how a fool could be adjudged a fool? Birds of same feather flock together. After all, only a fool can understand who was a fool or who possesses the latent potentials of a fool. The panel prior to its formation must advertise in national dailies that they need fool-proof fools so that the fools being interviewed are rightly and duly honored. In doing so we will have acted most democratically and this is what a real and fool-proof democracy warranted. Transparency must be maintained. During the selection process, care must be taken that fools rights are not violated. After all, we have to observe the HR established norms or else our donations coming from abroad will be stopped. Idea has been that some fools from the TI, HR, from within and without, be invited so that the entire process of the selection of the fools by the fools is made public for the consumption of the fools. Questions could be asked whether the person to be interviewed possessed these credentials: Are you a politician and if so then how many persons in your constituency you have so far befooled? The second question could be: Are you a corrupt one and if yes which bank is fortunate enough to have gulped your swelling wealth? The third question could be: Have you ever been grilled by the CIAA, if yes then on what crimes? Fourth question: What qualifications you possess that make you so sure that you would be allowed to wear the tag of the fool? By and by, one more question could be posed to the supposed fool: What benefits the nation will have in declaring you a fool? And etc. I am getting excited in writing about the fools. My own contention is that a person who is writing so much about a fool must himself be a fool indeed. Got the point! |
