Incompetent Prime Ministers galore

The national population is in a fix since the constitutional monarch dismissed the Sher Bahadur Deuba government for the latter’s "incompetence" in having failed to conduct the scheduled elections.

The nation’s academia appear perplexed on how to judge the performances of the Lokendra Bahadur Chand’s government duly appointed by the King himself after Deuba’s dismissal. Amidst this puzzle even, the population would wish strongly to push their idea, though in a subdued voice, that Chand was a Himalayan failure while in government. However, there was a silver lining during his tenure: he did manage the insurgents to come to the table. It is altogether a different matter that the King reportedly acted more to bring the insurgents to the table than Chand and his men did. But then yet one has to agree that one of the minister in the Chand’s cabinet, the charismatic and dedicated as well, a pilot turned congress turned almost a neutral personality, Mr. Narayan Singh Pun, did his best and ensured th nation with his sincerity that a normal Nepali of his stature if allowed to act can act to the advantage of the nation and the other camp as well.

But then yet, Chand’s cabinet failed, as it had to fail for Chand is a known failure. However, his modesty and sincerity towards the nation is also a thing that can’t be challenged for varied reasons. He is one among th corrupt crowd who remains clean despite the fact that of late his sons have remained instrumental in maligning their father’s unscratched image, politically speaking.

Since Chand was a failure and that since he was appointed by the King himself and thus certain politically inclined personalities say that Chand’s failure is King’s failure as well. Whether it is or not is a matter of debate. The fact is that Chand miserably failed. This is the hard fact.

The King then wished to test Surya Bahadur Thapa who till now too has miserably failed either it is on the political front or managing the Maoists conflict. He did initiate the talks but his ministers either were too confident of the emerging success or handled the process very lightly as if the Maoists were too small for their sophisticated political skills.

Thapa, a known conspiratorial brain ever heard in contemporary Nepal, apparently tried his brain but failed to expose the penchant of the political parties now in agitation that the agitation is not for any thing else other than power. Thapa failed to expose Koirala, Nepal and the rest in the team as to what they were in essence. As regards to power and powersharing and bla bla bla.

He is thus also an incompetent one like his predecessor who in no way differed with his predecessor, Deuba.

Galaxy of incompetent Prime Ministers.

It is time that the nation needed a competent one who could touvh the hearts of the national population and could also in the same vein prove beneficial for the King as well. But do we have such competent ones? Or should we "import" some one from outside who could deliver? Half imported ones have failed miserably to take not of the changing pulse beat of the nation and its innumerable injuries sustained over the years. All by political default indeed.
