Dear Sir, After reading the article written by former prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala political Crisis and Prospects of Resolutions I would like to ask the following questions to the author: 1.Mr. G.P. Koirala is the longest serving prime minister during those 12 years of democracy, why did not he or could not he institutionalise the democracy and could not bring the army under the elected governments jurisdiction? 2.When the former king Birendra and the family were masacared he as a prime minister should have formed an investigation committee and should not have waited for King Gyanendra to become a king to form such comittee. Does this mean that Girija Prasad Koirala could not perform his duty during the crisis and succumbed to the royal pressure? GP was the prime minister of people and the king was the king of the people. The kings are the institution of Nepal and it is not the family matter. So GP could not show the strength of an elected prime minister. 3.Time and again GP used to say that Maoist are being conducted by Nirmal Niwas when the present king was only the prince. What happened to this speculation of GP made public when he was a prime minister? Now is he scared to say the same or what he said when he was prime minister was wrong. In both the cases we the people want to have answer from him because we want to know the truth and it is our right. 4.The credibility of GP Koirala has been diluted by various such statements and actions and inability to handle the situation hence he should declare himself to be incapable prime minister in the history of Nepal and should retire for good. Do you have answer. Hope the editor has the guts to publish this. SunilThapa: Editor: You the readers are our strength. We are bias for democratic norms and values. We have the guts, as you expected. |
