Insurgency did expose systemic flaws Hindu religion is different than others. This religion considers any change or for that matter any happenings, good or bad, that happens in an easy manner as the one that had to happen as it was destined that way. Even if those who appear reluctant in accepting the change are told to take the change easily for the religion believes in the theory that whatever gets changed were beyond one's control and hence has got to be accepted pleasingly. The fact is that we the Hindus more often than not say that whatever has happened were bound to happen and hence what has happened have got to be embraced considering the changes as the will of the Almighty. Modern Hindus reject the theory till they are active, energetic and practically in their young age. When this breed comes of its age, an age close to retirement , a visible change is suddenly seen in this breed which knowingly or unknowingly begins to abide by the undeclared and undocumented societal rules that whatever has happened or is happening is so according to the will of the God. Some scholars and members of civil society have begun claiming that the emergence of the Maoists insurgency too have had its positive and negative impacts on the Nepali society. This means that even the killings, both way, have got to be accepted as the will of God. Difficult to digest indeed! It is not surprising therefore they say now that had the insurgency not taken its roots in the country, we the Nepalese would have been denied to know the flaws that demanded corrections by the society and later by the state to fit into the scheme of things of a modern state. For example, some influential members of the society claim that the eruption insurgency did benefit the society and the state in more ways than one. Firstly, this set believes that had the insurgency not been there, the state would not have found it to understand that Nepal was not a country wherein the western model of democratic system could flourish or even that it would not work here summarily. The leaders of the insurgency did prove that the system did facilitate the prevalence of rampant corruption in the country and that they proved that inequality, injustice, oppression, sheer negligence becomes the order the day. Thirdly, the insurgency opened the eyes of the leaders of the establishment that country's aforesaid ailments needed urgent attention and that by residing in Kathmandu, the problems being faced by the majority of the population residing in the remote areas could not be addressed efficiently and effectively. Thirdly and most importantly, the insurgency made it abundantly clear to all and sundry that look the country has not only the predominance of the King and the political parties but the force that is in the jungles waging a people's war too had become a strong force which the two can't dismiss. Lastly, the insurgency, the same set maintains, did expose that of late Nepal had already become the playground of certain external forces. Nevertheless, the scholars say, the Maoists did earned respect and honor in the beginning when they attended to the issues and the problems of the society. However, there was a decline in their popularity when they begun killing the innocent ones and the laymen in one pretext or the other. Well, what warrants debate on how to take the insurgency? An endeavour to make Nepal a Ram Rajya? Well accepted. But how can they justify the killings? In a revolution of this sort, they can claim, that such killings do not mean much. This could be their justification but how the family members of those who have lost their near and dear ones would agree to their justification? Aren't they sending messages across the nation that should they come to power, they would rule this way? What is the guarantee that they would do not repeat such actions? Killings of the innocent ones can't be justified. The more they go on killing, the more they are sure to damage their image in the eyes of the population. This applies to the state forces as well. This forces us to appeal the Maoists to come to the table and settle their scores with the state so that peace is restored and innocent lives on both the sides are saved. O Ye! Sons of the Nepali soil, come to understand the gravity of the situation in the country. It has been too much. Stop it if you both could please! Again, it is the Hindu religion like other religions of the world, appeals for the prevalence of peace in the world and believes in the theory live and let live.
