Nepal's export goes up by 115.43 percent

Nepal has recorded imports worth over Rs 300 billion and export worth over Rs 44 billion in the first two months of the current fiscal year 2021/22.

In the statistics unveiled by the Department of Customs here on Friday, the import of foreign goods stood at Rs 314 billion while the export of Nepal-made products was recorded at Rs 44.3 billion.

However, the import increased by 75.86 percent while export went up by 115.43 percent.

Trade deficit at over Rs 200 billion

Similarly, the Department has revealed that Nepal recorded a trade deficit of Rs 270 billion in the first two months of the current fiscal year. The trade deficit in the corresponding period last year was Rs 158 billion.
