Acid attack victims to get free treatment in Kathmandu valley

The government has designated four hospitals in Kathmandu valley for the treatment of acid attack victims. From now onwards these four hospitals in the valley will provide treatment free of cost to victims of acid attacks.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on June 12 took this decision by amending the guidelines for the treatment of victims of acid attacks in Nepal. Of the four hospitals, three are located in Kathmandu and one in Lalitpur.

The three hospitals in Kathmandu where victims of acid attacks can receive free treatment are Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Bir Hospital in Ratna Park and Kirtipur Hospital. Meanwhile, government has also mentioned that Patan Hospital in Lalitpur will provide free treatment to acid attack victims.
