The Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens has shared the plight that it has become difficult to spend budget, garner information and conduct monitoring due to lack of mechanism to link with the province, district and local levels.

At a meeting of the women and social committee under the House of Representatives today, Ministry Secretary Yam Kumari Khatiwada presented the summary of development programmes of 2077/78 under the ministry and its subordinates. There are no structures of the ministry in the province and local levels which have created many difficulties to implement programmes.

The lawmakers in the meeting complained that why the provision of free legal aid to women, children and senior citizens was not implemented. They stressed the need to end the trend of usurping the budget by the bigwigs.

They also made aware that the State treasury must not be misused.
