Delhi CM Kejriwal, other leaders test COVID-19 positive

Ten ministers from India's Maharashtra state have been confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus.

New Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also been infected. Kejriwal himself informed through social media that he was infected with the virus. Mentioning that the covid test was positive, he said, "There are mild symptoms. I have isolated myself at home."

He also asked those who had been in touch with him a few days ago to undergo a covid test and stay in isolation.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar informed that 20 other state parliamentarians have also been infected. He stressed the need for high vigilance from the general public as the coronavirus epidemic is spreading rapidly.

He said that the epidemic has spread due to non-observance of the rules enforced by the government and negligence. He further added, "Please comply with the government's request, be careful on your own, otherwise the situation could be dire."

He informed that a meeting of stakeholders and experts has been convened to discuss the new measures to be taken for controlling the epidemic and they are being consulted from time to time.

Maharashtra, India is the state most affected by the coronavirus. Currently, most Omicron infected people are seen in Maharashtra.
