NC district presidents’ protest underway

Nepali Congress has issued a whip to its lawmakers to be present at the meeting of the House of Representatives today.

District presidents of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) continue to protest, demanding to make public the list of all active members of the party.

Some district presidents of the NC are staging a relay protest strike in the party central office, Sanepa demanding correct distribution of party active membership by investigating into it in line with party statute and standards.

The NC on August 14 had endorsed the report of the investigation committee on central active membership. The protestors have demanded immediate release of name lists of the active members and amendment of the election directives following a similar kind of treatment to all district presidents in the election process.

 NC Tanahun district President Baikuntha Neupane, Surkhet President Kamalraj Regmi, Dolpa President Agad Kumar Budha, Nepal Students Union (NSU) former secretary Manojmani Acharya among others are staging the protest in the party central office.
