Two hundred Nepalese orange growers and tourism professionals are scheduled to attend the Orange Festival of Kolkata, West Bengal, India which will be held from December 10 to 12.

The biennial festival is being organized since 2014 will host Nepalese delegation not only from districts of east Nepal like Ilam, Dhankuta, Bhojpur, among others, participants would also represent Chitwan, Pokhara, and Lumbi, informed Arjun Karki, one of the members of the official organizer named Association for Conservation and Tourism which is chaired by Raj Basu.

''From its brand name, it seems like an orange festival where oranges grown in the Himalayan belt of Nepal, Bhutan, and India are showcased,'' said Karki, who is also the leader of the Nepalese delegation since its inception. He added, ''This festival also hosts stalls of hotels, travel agencies and other tourism products.'' He said this venue is the right place to brand Nepali oranges and other tourism products among the BBIN region of South Asia that includes Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, and Nepal.

''This year, we are also including Gandarbha who are an indispensable part of Nepal's traditional cultural strength. As Nepalese channels are not shown in India, Indians and members of other nations do not have an idea about Nepalese culture. Gandarbha would promote this. This may allure them to come to Nepal for cultural purpose also,'' informed Karki.
