Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Kailash Dhungel of Bagmati Province has presented the full proposal of the budget for the fiscal year 2021/22 for discussions on the principle and priorities of the appropriation bill.

Minister Dhungel shared that the new budget was centred to contain the COVID-19 pandemic and improve the health system by upgrading the hospitals in the Province. He further shared that the budget is focused in controlling the pandemic and continuing the development projects. There are 22 points in principle sectors while 66 points in priority sectors in the new budget.

Similarly, former Minster and CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Yuvraj Dulal argued that the budget proposal was populist and not practical to address the genuine problems.

On the occasion, lawmakers Narayan Bahadur Silwal, Astalaxmi Shakya, Ratna Dhakal, Rachana Khadka, Bishal Khadka, Rina Gurung, Narottam Baidya, Jagat Simkhada, Surendraraj Gorsai, Srijan Sainju, Geta Wagle, Nima Lama, Santa Bahadur Praja and Shibha Shakya also participated in the discussions.

The deputy speaker Radhika Tamang postponed the meeting until further notice.
