Children of 5 to 11 to get vaccinated: PM Deuba

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the vaccination campaign for children between the ages of 5 and 11 will be launched soon. He said more than 1.8 million kids from the age of 12 and 17 had been vaccinated, adding that a booster dose campaign had been launched for frontline workers. He also informed that booster dose will be made available for the citizens above 60 years of age from this month.

Till now 59.6 per cent above the age of 18 years have been fully vaccinated and 78.3 per cent have been provided with the first dose of vaccine. A total of 43,88,840 doses of various types of vaccines have been received and 2,74,75,995 doses of vaccines have been distributed. 

He says that significant improvements have been made in the infrastructure services of government hospitals to cope with COVID-19. As a result, the availability of oxygen plants, ventilators, and other treatment items has increased. 

Prevention, control, and treatment arrangements have been made accordingly to prevent the transmission of COVID.
