A new variant of Corona virus 'Omicron' has been found infected in India and high alert has been heightened at Birgunj checkpoint in the border district of Parsa.

Chief District Officer of Parsa, Umesh Kumar Dhakal, said that preparations have been made to raise the necessary awareness through the District Covid-19 Crisis Management Center after the discovery of Omicron in India. According to Dhakal, Assistant Chief District Officer Bhim Kant Poudel has been tasked to formulate an 'Action Plan' to take necessary decisions to make the new variant Nepal more aware through the meeting of the Center.

As there is a high risk of new variants in the district due to open movement from India in Parsa, it is said that the plan has been put forward to work actively to adopt vigilance.
