Finance Minister Sharma assures of progress in Arun Corridor Project

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has said the works related to the Arun Corridor Project would be started soon.

Speaking at a press meet organised by the Press Centre Nepal, Sankhuwasabha here today, the Minister said the government would soon start homework for the operation of Arun Corridor.

He added that the Arun Corridor remained an important project for the development of Sankhuwasabha. As he said, talks are underway with the World Bank for the project in regard to project works.

He pledged to take initiation for the operation of Kimathanka point as well. The construction of a road up to Kimathanka point and the systematization of a customs office remained as the priorities of the government, he added.

As he said, Nepal’s water and people’s investment concept would lead several projects based on the Arun river to success. In his political remark, he urged all not to doubt the continuity of the coalition government of five political parties.
