Light snowfall forecast in mountainous regions

Light snowfall at one or two places of the eastern and western high mountainous regions has been forecast today. According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is partly to generally cloudy in the hill areas of the country and partly cloudy in the rest of the country today.

Likewise, tonight there will be cloudy throughout the country with chances of light snowfall at one or two places of the western high mountainous region.

As the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology says, the country presently sees the influence of a low-pressure system based in Bangladesh and its surroundings and the partial impact of a low-pressure system in the Arabian Sea and its surroundings.

In its bulletin for the next 24 hours, the Department has predicted the possibility of light snowfall at one or two places of the high lands and mountainous regions of Province 1, Gandaki and Karnali provinces. Stating that the intensity of cold was rising across the country, it has urged the people to take preventive measures against the cold.

Similarly, on Tuesday, there will be partly cloudy across the country with the possibility of light rain at one or two places of the Gandaki Province.

The Division’s latest updates showed that the Kathmandu Valley’s minimum temperature today was measured 7.1 degrees Celsius followed by 21.4 degrees Celsius of maximum temperature.

Today, Jumla reported the lowest -4.3 degrees Celsius and Janakpur recorded the highest 29.2 degrees Celsius across the country.
