Nepal-India to discuss border crossing identity card

The government has introduced a new plan to tighten border security in the Nepal-India border areas. The government is to propose the Indian Government to introduce identity cards to cross borders for both nationals.

Afghanistan and Myanmar nationals have entered Nepal through the open Nepal-India border and taken refuge in the country. Addressing the problem, a discussion was held about the issuance of identity cards for border security informed the spokesperson of Home Ministry, Phanindra Mani Pokharel.

Both the countries must arrange for the border crossing identity cards, for this a meeting is to be held today with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) informed Pokharel.
