Province 2 govt to provide Rs 5 lakh for Muskan Khatun treatment

US Ambassador Berry awarded Muskan Khatun her International Women of Courage Trophy, alongside First Lady Deuba and rights activist and Member of Constituent Assembly, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba on Oct 19,2021.

The province 2 government has decided to provide additional financial assist worth Rs five lakhs to acid victim and survivor Muskan Khatun for her treatment.

The cabinet meeting of province 2 held today decided to provide Rs five lakhs to her for further treatment.

On 6 September 2019, two youths splashed acid on Khatun in Birgunj-based Ganeshman chok.

Before this, the federal government had also provided Rs three lakhs to Khatun for her treatment.

Likewise, Birgunj Metropolitan City (BMC) office and BMC mayor Bijaya Sarawogi had helped her Rs two lakhs and one lakh respectively totaling amount Rs three lakhs.

Similarly, Province 2 govt had also provided monetary assistance sum of Rs five lakhs to another acid victim Arati Shah.
