Resources are needed for service effectiveness

Inspector-General of Police Shailesh Thapa Chhetri has stressed the need to complete the infrastructure for the security of the people and the defense of the constitution. Inaugurating two separate buildings at the District Police Office, Kaski today, including two residences, a kitchen, and a detention center, he said that the infrastructure would play an important role in the service delivery. Stating that the expected service could not be provided due to a lack of resources, he stressed the need to strengthen the organization by building infrastructure along with the latest technology.

Stating that 627 different units have been added for the effective advancement of the organization, he said that 23,000 manpower would be required for that. Pointing out the need for everyone to assimilate for their honesty and responsibility, Inspector General of Police Thapa expressed the belief that the organization should not bow down if it does not fail in any particular task. Stating that the general public has hope and faith in the police organization, he stressed that the organization responsible for maintaining peace and security in the country should not express its views on the basis of social media.

Chief of the Pokhara Metropolitan City, Man Bahadur GC, stressed the need to equip the police organization with infrastructure and technology to make peace and security effective. Chief District Officer Jayanarayan Acharya stressed the need for the state to prepare the necessary infrastructure for the security of the people's livelihood.

Gandaki State Police Chief Deputy Inspector General of Police Divesh Dohani said that the police have been carrying out the construction work of physical infrastructure as per the need with the financial support of the federation and the state government. Expressing confidence that the physical infrastructure would play an important role in providing efficient service, Kaski Police Chief Superintendent of Police Ramesh Thapa said that the police have given priority to control the drug-related activities in Pokhara.


The construction of the four well-equipped buildings has been completed at a cost of Rs. According to him, the four newly constructed buildings have barracks for men and women, senior and junior staff quarters, five detention rooms including two women, and a kitchen with a capacity of 80 people. Letters of appreciation were given to various organizations, construction professionals and police officers and youths who helped in the construction of the Police Office, including the director of Panthi Derika, Resham Panthi.
