Sankhuwasabha murder case: four accused remanded, minor sent to child correction home

Five accused involved in the brutal murder at Umling in Madi Municipality-1 in Sankhuwasabha district have been ordered to be remanded for further investigation into the case.

The Sankhuwasabha District Court, Information officer Dilli Prasai said Khadga Bahadur Karki, Lok Bahadur Karki, Rana Bahadur Karki, and Hasta Bahadur Karki were remanded for further investigation into the case.

Likewise, Naresh Karki (17) has been ordered to be sent to Child Correction Home, Biratnagar for being a minor.

The Sankhuwasabha District Police Office (DPO) on September 20, paraded Khadga Bahadur Karki (47) as the mastermind behind the murder and three others. Before that, on September 12, police had made public Lok Bahadur Karki, a nephew of one of the victims Tej Bahadur, as a prime suspect. Lok Bahadur on September 11 had confessed to police that he had committed the crime that took place on September 6.

Lok Bahadur killed Tej Bahadur and other members of his family including minors. The site where the murder took place is at a distance of 40 metres from the Tej Bahadur's house. The only member of the Karki family left unharmed is Tej Bahadur's father Boudhaman Karki (85).
