Three youths held with two pistols, 17 bullets in Sarlahi

Security personnel arrested three persons with two pistols, 17 bullets, and four magazines from Brahmapuri Rural Municipality in Sarlahi district. Police also seized three sets of mobile phones from their possession.

The arrested have been identified as Ramesh Mandal (23), Nur Alam Mansur (20), and Iworan Rayabhat (19) of Tribhuvannagar in the same rural municipality.

They were riding on a motorcycle with Indian vehicle registration number BR 30 X 6011 and were coming to Nepal from India. They were allegedly trying to smuggle the arms and ammunition into Nepal. Acting on a tip-off, joint security personnel from Province 2-based Janakpur Police Office and Brahmapuri-based Area Police, Sarlahi nabbed them during a routine vehicle check.

Further investigation into the case is underway, informed District Police Office, Sarlahi.
