Two persons including the driver died after a tractor met with an accident at Danuwarbensi in Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-6 of Udayapur district this morning. Eighteen others have sustained injuries in the mishap.
The District Police Office, Udayapur, said that the deceased has been identified as Bowa Sada (40) of Triyuga Municipality-9 and driver Diwas Sarki (20) of ward no. 10 of the same municipality. Sada died in Udayapur Hospital while Sarki passed away at the Biratnagar-based Neuro Hospital.
Of the injured, condition of five is said to be critical. They are receiving treatment in Biratnagar and Udayapur Hospitals, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bed Prasad Gautam of Udayapur police said.
The tractor (Province 2-01-001-Ta 1083) heading to Rupatar at Tapli in the district’s hilly belt met with an accident at 9:30 am.
