Two killed as truck hit scooter

Two persons were killed in a road accident at Lions Club Chowk of Itahari Sub-metropolis-16 in Sunsari district last night.

The deceased have been identified as Sushant Bhattarai (25), of Inaruwa-2 and Vibhishan BK (20), of Sankhuwasabha Chichila-2. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Narendra Kumar Karki said both were seriously injured when a scooter (Ko 20 Pa 6747) heading from east to west on the East-West Highway was hit by a truck (Na 6 Kha 5681) coming from the opposite direction.

The injured died on the way to Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar, police said.
