The non-establishment side of the Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to take initiation to address practical issues seen in the party’s General Convention process.

A meeting of the group held in the party’s former General Secretary Prakashman Singh’s residence at Chaksibari of Kathmandu agreed to sit for talks with party Central President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba so as to build an atmosphere for organizing the General Convention within the scheduled date.

Talking to media after the meeting, leader and former minister Minendra Rijal said the party’s senior leader Ramchandra Poudel would be meeting the party’s president today itself to discuss the matter.

“Some practical problems have surfaced in the general convention process, they need to be addressed and the party leadership should seriously take demands put forth by the district presidents,” he said.

Party leader senior leader Poudel, general secretary Shashank Koirala, treasurer Sita Devi Yadav, leaders Ram Sharan Mahat, Arjun Narsingh KC, Bal Bahadur KC, and Shekhar Koirala were among those present in the meeting.
